Associate Director, Research Programs/Services - 42119

Functional Title: Associate Director, Contracts & Grant


Develops and directs the implementation of administrative procedures and recommendations affecting the sponsored program activities under the direction of the Director. Provide leadership, direction, supervision, training and mentorship to contracts and grants, proposal and human resource functions in support of the Director, Associate Vice President for Research, Vice President for Research and the missions of the office and university.

  • Promote constant review and improvement of the administrative procedures governing Sponsored Research and related programs to ensure high quality service is provided to all faculty.
  • Conduct audit of proposals and grants teams for compliance with sponsor and university guidelines for proposal submission and routing of grants through General Counsel in the MOVE program.
  • Work with the Director and Associate Director for Contracts to build and maintain a strong customer service centric organization to serve the needs of the growing university.
  • Take on a leadership role in department policy development and process documentation and staff training initiatives.
  • Represent the department in ORC committees on behalf of the Director, as requested.
  • Take on a leadership role in the internal operations of the department, assisting in the coordination of various initiative teams (e.g. policy & procedure development teams, principal investigator manual chapter teams, etc.) working with Assistant Directors, team leads, managers, etc.
  • Submits completed proposals on behalf of the University, ensuring that proposals are current, accurate, complete and in full compliance with sponsor and University policies, procedures and other requirements (including but not limited to: IRB, IACUC, EHS, TTO, and Export Control).
  • Manage pre-award aspects of Subawards including drafting/negotiating contracts, risk assessment review, etc.
  • Serve as liaison with a variety of agencies and professional groups to keep abreast of current developments and to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct necessary negotiations of research contracts and grants and consummate applicable grants and contracts with funding agencies.
  • Coordinate the fiscal administration, budgeting, and other compliance issues related to research grants, contract accounts or other sponsored internal and external programs as appropriate.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentorship to teams and other personnel in the Office of Research & Commercialization.
  • Develops and implements quality assurance measurements and map business process to improve processes throughout the division by coordinating and engaging in activities to proactively promote implementation of best practices.
  • Interact with the other Office of Research and university personnel to insure effective communication, cooperation and collaborations.
  • Provide other support to the Director of Sponsored Research as required.
    Lead the department in the absence of the Director, as required.

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience.

Office Manager - 42733


Daily operation of the Incubator (various locations). Assisting Site Manager with all functional operations including but not limited to facility management, inventory, personnel actions and business operations..

  • Assists in the daily operation of the Central Florida Research Business Incubator. Daily interaction with the incubator Service Providers. Direct support to the Site Manager of the Business Incubator.
  • Represent Site Manager when Site Manager is off site. Assist in managing on-site clients and recruiting and hiring interns.
    Liaison with other incubator sites, ORC departments, and between ORC and incubator clients.
  • Responsible for incubator client routing and coordinating telephone systems, purchase management, ordering supplies and managing inventory for the site.
  • Point of contact for visitors and coordinate meetings and scheduling of events for the facility, including conducting tours of operations.
  • Manage reporting for tracking facility use.
  • Coordinate business event registration including handling credit card transactions.
  • Responsible for setting up client training facilities and equipment. Schedule meetings for the site clients and managers. Prepares meeting rooms and maintains their use.
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting training materials for use by clients and outside vendors.
  • Distribute promotional material about the business center. Coordinate mass mailings and group wide mass e-mails.
  • Other duties as assigned.d.

A high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Equipment/Maintenance Engineer – ICAMR (A&P) – 42194


The Equipment/Maintenance Engineer will oversee the specification, installation, and support of 200mm/300mm wafer processing tools in a cleanroom fabrication environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the specification, installation, and support of 200mm/300mm wafer processing tools in a cleanroom fabrication environment.
  • Develop equipment specifications.
  • Prepare equipment installation packages for all tools to be installed in the cleanroom and supporting laboratories.
  • Translate equipment needs into facilities requirements.
  • Manage the installation of tools.
  • Work with facilities to ensure all site facilities services are ready according to tool install schedules.
  • Develop equipment maintenance plans.
  • Develop systems and methods to monitor equipment/tool performance.
  • Collaborate with ICAMR facilities, process, operations, and maintenance to ensure that equipment performs at optimum level.
  • Work with tool, gas/chemical and other vendors to ensure that ICAMR’s needs are met.
  • Completes assigned project deliverables with the highest quality within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Track project progress on regular basis. Write & present progress reports keeping all the organizations informed and involved.

Prefer BS or MS Degree in engineering or science field and 7 or more years of experience with production equipment/tools in semiconductor or related industries with cleanroom fabs. Strong knowledge of 200mm/300mm tools including but not limited to MOCVD, CVD, ALD, CMP, lithography, EBeam, metrology, and cleans. Ability to work in a highly dynamic team environment requiring a strong work ethic, ability to be an open communicator, and ability to demonstrate great flexibility to meet the demands of ICAMR’s ramp up of operations. Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information. Travel up to 10%.

2.5/3D Engineer – ICAMR (A&P) – 42256


This position will be responsible for engineering the integration and implementation of devices consistent with ICAMR’s technology roadmap for 2.5D/3D Chip Integration encompassing but not limited to interposers, TSV modules, micro bumps, and flip chip bumps.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate with industry partners and understand their technical requirements.
  • Designs and simulates new device concepts through physical device model analysis and electrical simulations.
  • Actively participates in the layout of test reticles for technology development and new technology support.
  • Establishes appropriate electrical and physical characterization of new developed structures.
  • Actively participates in the filing of intellectual property pertaining to new technology development efforts.
  • Completes assigned project deliverables with the highest quality within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Track project progress on regular basis. Write & present progress reports keeping all the organizations informed and involved.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Prefer BS/MS/PhD degree in a relevant science or engineering field with strong emphasis in electrical engineering/electronics engineering/materials science/physics. Prefer 5 years of applicable experience in semiconductor or electronics engineering industry. Strong knowledge of device physics for silicon CMOS devises, smart sensors, integrated photonics, RF, IR, UV devices, high performance power devices or other relevant technologies. Ability to work in a highly dynamic team environment requiring a strong work ethic, ability to be an open communicator, and ability to demonstrate great flexibility to meet the demands of ICAMR’s ramp up of operations. Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information. Demonstrated experience in 2.5D/3D Chip design. Travel up to 10%.
